Training.

More than 50 apprentices trained since 1946

Introduction

Our training.

Construction, and masonry in particular, offers especially attractive training and career prospects. The initial federal masonry certificate (CFC) opens the door to a wide range of further qualifications and positions of responsibility, while still working on site.

It is an exciting but demanding trade. Every year we aim to train one or more apprentices and do everything we can to show them every facet of the job, within a family business and supervised by skilled team leaders.

Mason.

The builder par excellence, the mason carries out the structural work of buildings. From earthworks to making the building weathertight, he is the key player in masonry work. He builds brick walls and reinforced concrete structures, and also renovates and maintains existing buildings.

Compulsory schooling must be completed before starting this 3-year CFC training.

Team leader.

Organising, leading, executing and checking: these are the core activities of a team leader. In a masonry company, he manages a team of 2 to 8 people, alone or under the supervision of a foreman. As the link between the office and the site, he writes reports, reads plans and directs the work.

Part-time training over 2 years; candidates must hold a mason’s CFC.

Foreman and workers reviewing plans on a building site

Foreman.

The true conductor of a building site, the foreman holds a position of great responsibility. He oversees orders, organises the site and manages staff and equipment economically, while guaranteeing build quality and site safety.

Four years of professional experience in the sector, including at least 3 years as a team leader, are required to obtain this federal certificate.

Construction manager.

A future executive of construction companies, the construction manager oversees several sites. Planning, quality control, administrative and financial management: the technician ensures that work progresses on time and to standard. As the link between the company and the other parties involved, he represents and defends the company at site meetings.

A CFC in a construction trade is required to start the course. To obtain the federal construction manager diploma, candidates follow 2 years of part-time training and must show 4 years of experience in a masonry company before sitting the exam.
